Since turning 25 on Monday, I have been feeling extremely old. I teach the 16-17 year-olds in Sunday school and I feel like I just graduated high school when, in actuality, it's been 7 years! Mind blowing.
But, as usual, I have no complaints. I'm happy & healthy and loved & appreciated. What more can I ask? I'll be getting my bachelor's degree in Nursing at the end of July, a life-long goal achieved. I have two beautiful, kind-hearted children, a hard-working husband and loving siblings and parents along with amazing in-laws. The last 25 years have been good to me and I'm grateful for the life I live and for the direction I receive from a loving Heavenly Father through His Gospel. I can't deny His hand in my life; it is the reason for my happiness.
For my birthday I told Tristan I wanted a surprise date which he fulfilled with flying colors. My wonderful in-laws graciously took the kids so that we could enjoy ourselves. First stop was Costa Vida. We both love this restaurant for multiple reasons one being that it's delicious, but also because it reminds us of Rexburg. And we love Rexburg and the memories created there. We don't go there often because it's about a 20 minute drive so this was only our second time since moving from Rexburg.
Great idea Tristan!
We always order the sweet pork salads (if you can call them that) and Trist gets Barq's while I get me a Dr. Pep. You could call us predicable, I wouldn't be offended.
For the second part of the date we drove out to Sacramento and went to a Rivercat's game.
I've been wanting to go to a baseball game and since San Fran is too far (and expensive) for an evening date, this was the perfect alternative. Again, great idea Tristan! He knows me well.
When I realized what he had planned I was very excited. And rightfully so because it was super fun! Despite the 104 degree heat, we still had a blast. We were in the shade so it wasn't bad and the dip-n-dots certainly helped ;).
This was at the beginning of the game when the heat was really bad. But after about an hour, the sun went down and it was perfect weather. Thanks for such a great birthday memory Tristan, I love you!
