Welp, it's happened. All the Warner sisters are married. Now just the brothers left. Stevie's wedding was a week long endeavor and SO much fun. Well, for the most part. I say that because almost every single person in my family got sick before, during, or after the wedding. Like puking-up-your-guts sick. But you know what? We still know how to have a good time! So here's a day-to-day break down.
Cole and Stevie's wedding invitation! They are so presh.
Monday: Road trip day. Tristan couldn't get a week off of work, but I knew I wanted to go down to help get everything ready and be there for all the excitement. So I dragged my mother-in-law with me (and two kids) as we drove the 7-hour drive from Folsom to Ontario. I drove the whole way while Lesa kept the kids happy and calm. We only stopped twice. It was easily the best road trip I've had with the kids. Lesa is an amazing co-captian.
Tuesday: Temple day! I'm so grateful I got to be there for Stevie's first time in the temple. So special.
Scott and Rhonda Paterson, Cole, Stevie, me, Britt, Mom, Dad, and Gma.
Notice how Stevie can't keep her eyes off of him? Yeah, it was like that the whole week.
We went to the Redlands temple for her Endowments but was they sealed in the LA (just like me).
LA was my temple district until I was about 15, and then it became Redlands.
We went to dinner afterward at El Torito (a Warner family favorite).
This is one of my favorite cousins, Brendan. He's funny, energetic, kind-hearted, and so loving. We're exactly 6 months apart and grew up always playing together as kids. He's a good person inside and out.
And this is my hottie of a twin sister Brittany. Ellie was miss grumpy pants after not getting enough rest (surprise, surprise) but B did a good job cheering her up (even though it's not quite evident in these pictures).
Wednesday: Bridal Shower day. Finishing all the food and games for the shower.
After my mom did the cupcake on the left, we enlisted Lesa to continue with the frosting-ing (is that a word? I'm thinking the answer to that is no).
Ellie even got to sneak some water time with Aunt Britt!
The beautiful bride-to-be!
All the friends and family that came to support Stevie and Cole.
Brendan's wife Nicole and his sister (my cousin) Kalynne. Love these two.
Miss B was the best MC (and the cutest).
Stevie and two of her Bridesmaids and me (Britt and I were both Maids (or Matrons) of Honor).
Stevie with her Young Woman's President, Jerrina. They're a crack up.
The Bride and mother of the Bride. The picture on the right cracks me up.
Thursday: P-day. Also the day most of the rest of the family came (i.e. my brothers and husband). Also the day I was sick and in bed all morning. Thank goodness my MIL could watch the kids (Trist wasn't coming in until late that night) while Britt and Stevie and my mom got things done. By 2:00p I was feeling a little better and we went and got our nails done as sisters. So fun. I was totally crying while at the nail place thinking about how happy I was for my little sister and grateful that we got to spend some time together as sisters. They really are the best.
Case in point.
Friday: Wedding Day!! Woke up feeling 100 times better. Unfortunately for Lesa, that wasn't the case. She had been vomiting all night. She got what I had (except I never threw up, just felt like it). The more I thought about it, the more I realized that I must have gotten it from my cousin who had been sick throwing up. And then his wife and son were sick the next day. And Ellie had been sick on Tuesday (no throw up, but close so I didn't think much of it). I texted Stevie and Brittany right away to see if they were feeling well and they both were, thank goodness.
Before the sealing. Mickey helping Caleb up after falling.
The little lovelies. Just FYI that was NOT the dress I bought for Ellie to wear at Stevie's wedding. You pick your battles ladies and gents.
The sealing was beautiful and wonderful and all those great things.
Mr. and Mrs. Cole Paterson!
Aren't they the cutest ever?? They look like they're straight outta the fifties.
This is where the fun really began. In the middle of taking pictures, Stevie gets sick and vomits on the temple flowers! Poor thing! Every single sibling ran over to make sure she was okay. Literally all of us. Scott bent down and was cleaning her dress, Brittany was holding her hair, Andrew and Mickey were talking to her trying to distract her, and I was feeling her head. Yep, she definitely had what I got. She shook it off and decided to continue with pictures. Luckily we had already finished with all the group shots and she as just taking them with Cole now.
So Tristan and our fam make our way to the airport with Mick because it was finals week for him and he had to get back so he could take a final the next day! We were lucky we got him for a few days. I got a text from my mom while we were driving and she said that Stevie got sick again and they were going to head home and post pone the rest of the pictures. I was soooo sad for her. On all the days to get sick, this is literally the worst one. Luckily, she had the best photographer (who is in my mom's ward) and said she'd take more again when they got back from their semester in school.
We were stuck in 2.5 hours of traffic. It was very reminiscent of our wedding day. LA traffic is the worst. Don't worry though, we made it to the airport in time and Mickey made his flight.Due to traffic, however, there was no time in-between to relax (thank goodness the kids slept in the car) so after the airport we headed over to the luncheon at the stake center at 5. There, I find out that Rhonda, Cole's mom, is sick. And Andrew (my brother, not BIL) got sick. Then Mickey texted me later and said he threw up on the plane. Also, two of my other cousins were sick and weren't able to come to the wedding at all.
I called Cole to see how Stevie was doing and he said she was better, but they weren't going to be at the luncheon. Cole's mom wasn't going to make it either. Isn't this all so terrible and sad??
Britt and Ellie. Me with Caleb and Brendan with Ryken. They got along so well, can't you tell?
This thing spread like wildfire, I've never seen anything like it. It seemed to dissipate quickly though. Pretty much everyone was super paranoid by now most of all Tristan and my BIL Andrew. But the party must go on, and it did. And it was awesome. The reception was for 7, and I talked to Cole again and he said they were going to make it! And Rhonda too! Tristan and Andrew did the music, Stevie was there with her new husband, and everyone was feeling good.
Look at these progressive shots. Can you figure out why Tristan is laughing so much?
Um. Heart. Melting. Love these two.
So of course my phone dies during the reception and so I wasn't able to get any pictures. Hopefully I'll get my hands on the professional pictures soon enough and post them! But everything turned out great. Even Andrew (my brother) made it to the reception and was feeling much better!
That night, Brittany and Andrew (her husband, my BIL) got sick :(.
Saturday: Spent time with family, recovered, did Easter activities. Also, my mom got sick this day. We went to El Torito again with the Cannata side of the family and enjoyed each others company. I didn't get a picture and I'm super sad about it.
Brendan and Nicole's little Ryken. He's so easy going. And aren't those cheeks so kissable??
But at least I got a picture of Grammy with Caleb passed out at church.
Caleb was a little nutso and church, so Scott and my dad watched him for me! It was the best.
After church we had a huge family dinner and it was de-lish!
Aunt Leticia! We love you.
We left for Northern California the next day but are so so grateful to have had such an eventful week full of family, fun, and food.
That night, Jess and Lucie (my aunt and uncle) got sick and had to reschedule their flights. Fast forward a few days to Tuesday (after we had already been home) and Tristan comes home from work early because he isn't feeling well. He pukes too. Fast forward a few more days and Sheldon is puke-er-iffic as well.
So even though we can dub Stevie's wedding as "the one where everyone got sick..." it definitely had its memories, ones that won't be forgotten. Thanks for the

Oh my goodness that is literally the craziest thing I've ever heard! Glad it didn't last too long though, but man that is rough!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. Poor everyone... but especially poor Stevie!! I can't believe you puked at the temple on her wedding day. I feel like a wuss for whining about my hair on my wedding day. But, you all looked great anyway. :) Especially that dress you wore to her reception, so cute!!
