Twelve Months

I'm a little late, but my beautiful boy turned ONE on the first.
He had a doctor's appointment a few days ago and here were his stats:

Weight: 23 lbs 15 oz (85.2%)
Height: 2' 7.5" (95%)

His birthday was on a Saturday (just like Ellie) and since they're only on a Saturday so few times, we threw him a little birthday party. I'll post pictures and stuff on the next post. Just know that he did not have to cancel it like we had to with Ellie's. Yay!

Caleb has three teeth on bottom and just barely got his forth tooth on top. For a while he had three up top and three below. It was pretty cute.

He is still such a good sleeper, better if that's even possible. 12 hours straight with no problems and an easy 2 and half hour nap, and he's flexible with the times for that which makes life easy.
How cute is this picture?? I get him to laugh every night before I lay him down by playing with that Mickey Mouse. I don't know why he think it's so funny, but I'll take it.

He was not walking by his first birthday, only standing on his own for a few seconds and walking along everything and anything. But has very recently started taking some steps and it's so adorable. Something I noticed between Ellie and him is that Ellie learned to walk before she learned how to stand up from a sitting position all by herself. Caleb learned to stand first and then how to walk. Kinda funny.

He is all boy when it comes to crawling, climbing, and playing. He gets into everything, it's pretty awesome. Ellie and him are really starting to play well together and it's the best thing ever. And super cute. But if Ellie takes a toy away from him he'll screech until he gets it back.

Also, I don't know how often I have had to say this. And when I do say it, I make sure I sound just like this:

(Just a little for your info, this is my fav Adam Sandler movie.)

He is still my big boy, but has stayed in 12-18 months clothes for a while now.

His knees are in a perpetual state of bruising, scuffs, scabs, and dirt. He's a very fast crawler.
He says "mama" "dada" and "gaga". He actually says gaga haha. He says it when he wants me to open something, feed him something, hold him, etc.

I still nurse him about 3 times a day. It's very obvious when he wants milk because he starts yanking on my shirt. I don't know how long I plan to nurse, I just wanted to make it to a year. I think I'm just waiting for him to be disinterested. I give him whole milk and feed him three meals a day plus snacks, but he still wants to nurse. So we'll see, I don't really have a reason to stop.

He loves giving us kisses and hugs! I'm serious. I'll say, "Caleb, can I have a kiss?" and he'll lean over and put his lips on mine. I can't get enough. And he doesn't really snuggle, but he grabs my neck and holds me tight. He loves his fam.
Ellie took these pictures. Pretty good, huh?

He has gotten into the trash on more than one occasion. And I'm always like two feet away doing the dishes and still don't notice it in time. Like how he pulled a Highlander and lobbed the lid to the trash right off? I'm not even mad, I'm just amazed.
It's alright, I just barely threw that yogurt away.

He likes to close doors, play in the water inside the toilet (despite all my efforts, he still manages to do it (don't worry it's only for like a second (but still))), play/destroy with anything electronic (I can't be on the computer when he's awake), and take poopies every morning when he wakes up and dad's already gone to work (you're missin' out Tristan).

Aaaaand of course he still loves in-n-out milkshakes. Especially when they're fed to him by his sister. Also, you may notice he has a spoon in his hand; he refuses any food I give him unless it involves a utensil. He's actually getting pretty good with them! I'm impressed.

Here's a years look at this kiddo. I loved this idea and got it from my friend Natalie. I should have tried to make it a little more uniform, but I'm just proud of myself for getting the pictures. It was easy until about 6 months, then it was a lot more work than I had anticipated to get him not to move. But worth it!
