July the Fourth

Our fourth of July was awesome, as expected. We had a nice, relaxing morning organizing ourselves into our new home and enjoying each others company. We then headed over to Tristan's parent's house and went shhwimmming, oh yeaaaah. Because look at the forecasted weather!!! Craaazaaay.

Although I know there are other places that had a great deal more heat, this was the hottest fourth I've ever experienced. It was sweltering! Look at the high! It was straight miserable being outside.

Ellie couldn't even handle wearing a bathing suit! Haha, just kidding, it was only because she was getting dressed into her regular clothes after swimming. And enjoying herself a nice cool otter pop.

After swimming, this is what the Turner men did.

Then we headed over to Tabitha and Nathan's house for some amazing BBQ dinner and fireworks.

Dinner with them never fails to be anything less than perfect. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it...

I lit this sparkler for Ellie but she kept trying to hand it back to me. A LIT sparkler. Handing me a LIT sparkler, people. Needless to say, she was chasing me because I didn't want to get scalded. 

I decided to just give her unlit ones for the time being.

These are Nathan and his 5 brothers (one is still missing). They were having fun "playing" with fire.

Ellie liked the fireworks and Caleb didn't really care either way. I think he was just hating the heat. 

These cute boys were loving the show.

Overall, a really fun and enjoyable holiday. Only thing I would have changed was the weather :).
