One Month

This is a little late since Caleb's almost two months,
but I figured I should update a little on him at one month.

His stats at one month were:
Weight: 9lb 3oz (30.37%)
Height: 1' 9.5" (45.81%)

Caleb is still a really great eater (and it's even better now that he can keep it down and feels FULL). He nurses about every 2-3 hours during the day.

He sleeps five hour stretches regularly, and then back down for another three, and then another two. So total it ends up being about 12 hours at night. I wish he was still doing those 7 and 8 hour stretches, but I can't complain. He sleeps swaddled up nice and tight in the pack-n-play.

He rarely cries (quite the difference from Ellie) and only does so when he's hungry or when we're trying to keep him awake (he doesn't like that). He mainly just grunts.

When he was born he had this cute wrinkle in between his eyes on the bridge of his nose, but sadly it's going away.

He sports an awesome tuft of hair on the back of his head that makes one think: "Business on the front, party on the back".

He likes bath time and I'm proud to say I've done a good job and not getting peed on by putting a washcloth over the privates.

He wears size one diapers, and only went through one box of newborns before we needed to move up a size. (Ellie was in newborn until she was almost two months!)

He likes looking at lights, at mom and dad, and watching his big sister. I think he can watch her all day. He's good at following our voices.

He also enjoys car rides, stroller rides, the swing, the bouncer, being held, and sucking on the paci. Overall, he's a happy, easy going baby. We love you Caleb! Your spirit brings a lot of joy to our home!
And my sweet little Ellie girl. She can get rough with him at times because she's overly excited. But for the most part, a loving sister that likes to pat him and has even tried to nurse him (obviously she was disappointed when she realized that wasn't going to work). She's a big helper and wakes up in the morning saying "Where'd baby go?" (She can't say his name that well yet.)

I'm grateful for my kiddos (and being able to say kiddos).

  1. ha! I used a little washcloth on T and it worked nicely. then I found out about those pee-pee tee-pee thingys and thought how hilarious that something so useless would be marketed when a washcloth does just fine! loved the update. he is really growing!

  2. Caleb sounds a lot like Kenneth was. Which in truth makes me fearful that our next child will be a lot more needy then he was. He certainly is a cute little boy. I don't think I have ever been peed on by Kenneth, Tim on the other hand did more then once and it was hilarious to watch, but hurt laughing. It was in the hospital. Glad to hear that he's doing much better.
