So my mom wasn't feeling 100 percent, so she opted to wear a mask around Caleb for the first couple of days. She's so funny (but I am glad she took the extra precaution). Most of the time she put the mask on backwards... haha
I love taking pictures of sleeping babies. I did it with Ellie, and I'm doing it again with Caleb. There are a LOT. Just keep scrolling.
These are pictures my mom took of Ellie on their walks together. My mom basically let her do whatever she wanted. So, naturally they got along really well.
This guy is is such a snuggler, I love it.
This is what his first few weeks of life have been like...
I think he likes sleeping. He also enjoys eating, burping, and poo-ing. He's talented at all of it.
Daddy and his little guy. Never tire of seeing them together.
(The picture on the left was right after we got back from the hospital... tired much, Tristan?)
My mom makes the best homemade marinara sauce, so we were grateful when she made some for us. YUM. We had left overs for a few days. Wish I still had some. (Okay fine, I guess I'll have to make some myself. But nothing like momma's home cookin'!)
I'm positive that the first week would have been so stressful if my mom hadn't been there. She's the best and I'm so grateful she was here with me. There's nothing like your mom, huh?
Moms need their moms too.
He's starting to have longer periods of being awake.
But still loves his sleep.
We've already started getting 5-6 hour stretches in his 3 weeks of life. It's been awesome.
Ellie is such a good older sister.
Maybe a little too good...
If I'm doing something and Caleb's crying, when I come back I normally will find the pacifier near him or a blanket in her attempt to console him. It's seriously the sweetest.
How awesome is this picture on the left? Can I get a MILK DRUNK??
It's pretty obvious to me when Ellie hasn't been getting enough attention from me, but luckily, it's easy to win her heart back over. All you have to do is draw balloons for her. Over and over and OVER.
Coloring is her favorite. Before bedtime, we always make time to color.
She found crayons in her room when she was supposed to be taking a nap.
That took me a good hour to clean up.
I think the pump confuses her... haha.
Love my silly girl.
Grandma Lesa with Caleb.
This is a picture Tristan took. Every evening we switch off, some nights I'll put Ellie down and he'll take Caleb, and vice versa. Well I was on Ellie duty and he was on Caleb duty. His mission? To keep Caleb awake so that he'll sleep longer at night. Tristan tried everything, but couldn't keep that kid awake. He was OUT. Mission failed, Tristan.
So that's been our first three weeks with our family of four. Some days are easier than others and I've made it to the park a few times. I was super nervous to have two kids on my own after my mom left, but I feel like I've done a pretty good job. It hasn't been easy, but not as hard as I anticipated (I think it's because Caleb is such a good baby). We've had lots of help too and I'm so grateful for that.
Next up, trying to go grocery shopping. I don't know if I'll be ready to take the plunge quite yet. I'll probably just wait for Tristan to get home.

So cute! Congrats.
