Nursing Conference

This last week has been both fun and crazy!

We had moved all of our stuff into our new place just in time to pack up and head down to Utah. I went down on Wednesday with my Nursing class for a conference. It went until Friday and then Tristan and Ellie came down to join me!

The first evening was spent at Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem. We did doors, games, and learned a ton.

This is how Utah greeted us Thursday morning. I'm pretty sure it was worse in Rexburg, so I'll take it. This day was spent at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo.

Heather and Sabrina. This is not an uncommon site.
They fed us a delicious lunch, and had a good time learning. They even let us cauterize chicken. I carved my initials. Afterward we did some good old shopping, because, let's face it, even Idaho Falls doesn't have all the best stores. We had lots of fun.

Briana, me, and Rachel.

The next day was my favorite day. We did have to get up at 4:45 to make it to Primary Children's by 7:00, but other than that, it was a beautiful hospital.

We had to take the train to the hospital so as to not worry about parking. We got lost, asked lots of people questions, but we made it! And on time too!

Look closely at this picture. They aren't real hands, but actual casts of those hands.

This hospital felt almost sacred to me. It's a pediatric hospital; it was such a special place to be. The sickest of the sick come here and I felt honored to be there.

I had a blast we these three. Rachel, Briana, and Chandra. They are so fun and made the week without Ellie and Tristan bearable. (It was my first time leaving her overnight).

Our teachers get us confused! I think it's the hair.

Our last stop was to Ikea to eat some delicious meatballs and indulge ourselves into some wishful thinking. It was so fun!

Overall the nursing aspect was a good, informative learning experience.
Next post is the weekend in Utah with Trisan and Ellie and some of our favorite people! (Post coming later).
