Here's the low-down

UPDATES all around:

Side note: If she's in a onsie, that's because I had to change her outfit for probably the third time that day due to spit up. Therefore, I put a onsie on because it's easier.

Ellie turned 5 months (a couple weeks ago actually). And she sure is acting a lot older. She started to roll over on her own (from stomach to back, and back to stomach) and to sit up all on her own. She's still a little unsteady, but she gets better everyday. She laughs a lot and smiles all the time. I still nurse her about 5 times a day(but she gets formula if I wasn't able to pump enough when I'm at school), and is going to be starting rice cereal very soon. She spits up several times a day and she has got some loud burps. She turns when you say her name. She laughs when you tickle her tummy, and she loves to reach for your face. She always seems to have sharp nails no matter what I do, so when she grabs at your face, be careful! She's still a great sleeper. Ever since she was 6 weeks old she's slept about 8 hours. Now she's getting into the 10s and if we're lucky 12 hours a night. I give her a bath every night before she goes to bed; it calms her down and knows that that means it's almost time for bed; she loves to eat the wash cloth. I have tons of flowers and bows, but I always like to put the big ones on her. She is wearing size two diapers and can fit into 3 to 6 months and 6 months clothes (depending on the brand). Every time I hold her she likes to open her month really big and eat my shoulder. I like to think that that's how she says "I love you!". She also likes to put her hands in your mouth. When she does that I like to pretend like I'm eating her hand, which makes her laugh. It's so cute. She takes either one or two really big naps during the day, or a few small naps. She likes to change it up. If she's tired you know. If she's hungry you know. If she goes poo you know. She can be very sassy about it. But I'm pretty good at telling what she wants (thank goodness). She loves playing with toys. She'll put anything and everything into her mouth. She'll touch, smell, lick, taste, drool, suck, bite, scratch, feel, and reach for anything she can get her hands on. I love the her and am so grateful for her. She brings Tristan and I so much happiness.

Here's a few random pictures of her

She likes to look at herself in the mirror
Grandma Lesa giving her a bath
She looooves my watch.
Her first time sitting up on her own!
Just woke up after a little nap. Hellllloooo Tristan's daughter.
She loves Natalie and Sharon. Especially Sharon's shirt.

Tristan is doing really well in his classes and enjoying work. He rides his bike to school everyday and really likes that too. He plays soccer on Thursdays with our ward and LOVES it. As for me, I'm looooving school and am learning so much in my classes. I've already been training at the hospital for several weeks now and am really enjoying it. I finally feel like this is where I'm supposed to be. It feels so right when I'm at the hospital taking care of patients. We just learned how to insert nasogastric tubes (NG tubes, which go from your nose all the way to your stomach or intestine). As you can imagine, it's not very comfortable to have put in. It made me really grateful for my health. We get to learn medications next week and practice giving each other shots-- in the booty! I've never had one, but I hear it hurts. I don't mind though, at least we don't have to practice NG tubes on each other.

We are doing so well and finally enjoying the beautiful weather Rexburg has to offer.

  1. So many things I love about this post! That first video is so adorable, I love when she puts her feet in her mouth. I also love that candid picture of Natalie and Sharon. Ellie is the cutest. OH! and the picture of Ellie waking up... so funny! Also, I can't believe you're going to practice shots in the butt! HA!

  2. Like I said on Sunday, I can't believe shes so big already!
Butt shots don't hurt too bad, as long as you don't tense the muscle, trust me! Vastus lateralis shots hurt a little more to me at least, and venipuncture in the hand is the least comfortable, but nothing compared to IVs! You're doing awesome!
