Let me tell you about these cool people that live next door to us. Their names are the Steve and Christie. They have an adorable little girl named Bree, but Breezy to those that are cool. Since the first time we moved in, Steve was there carrying boxes into our apartment. Yeah Steve, you rock. And Christie has let me borrow COUNTLESS cups of milk (because Tristan chugs ours down like there's no tomorrow) and many other cooking necessities. Christie, you also rock. And Bree has been a source of many hours of laughter. Did you know she's an amazing dancer? Bree, you rock the best of all the Thornocks. Sorry guys.
Now, the Thornocks are a unique brand of people. Probably because they are much like Tristan and I; we are both competitive. The Thornock's always want to smash the Turner's in any game we can think of. Christie, you're still reigning champion of phase ten, don't worry. Blog world, let it be known, Christie cannot be beat in phase ten. Or else you'll be punched. And Steve, well he'll beat you at your own game. And when I say that, I mean Settler's. That is Tristan and my favorite game to play, because it doesn't only take luck, but skill and strategy as well. Well we play the Thornock's and Steve swoops in there and just owned us. Cheers to you Steve, it won't happen again. That I can promise.
The Thornocks also can appreciate good movies and books. We can talk with them for hours about all of our favorite movies. But SHAME on Christie for not ever seeing Back to the Future yet. We'll take care of that soon. Thank goodness we took Uncle Buck off the list of unseen movies for them. Steve and Christie also like many, many books. They let us borrow Ender's Game (one of my favorite books) on CD as we made the long trip to California. They also let us borrow Harry Potter. Props to you guys. I will say you guys like to read on a border line geeky level, but we appreciate your good taste in literature. (You know I had to poke fun at that).
But the best thing about the Thornocks is they like to have FUN. As many of you know, it was April Fool's yesterday, and they played a funny/mean trick on us. They seran wrapped the front of the door and poored popcorn all down the front of our door. They also left some of their rootbeer (because we always drink all their rootbeer) in the door jam with a bag of delicious caramel popcorn that I am currently eating. The trick was fun and playful. I graciously let Tristan and Steve clean it all up. Good job Thornocks, you guys did an awesome job.
We only have a short amount of time left with them (appox. one semester) because Steve and Christie are going to leave for Logan in July. Apparently Steve is going to Grad school for Geology blah blah blah, we don't care because we don't want them to leave! No other family could possibly be better neighbors, but I suppose we have to let them go. Christie, thanks for teaching me to put funfetti cake into a bundt pan, it makes all the difference. I will think of you everytime I put the rainbow chip frosting on. Steve, thanks for all the good chats about geology, the earth, evolution, and marathons. You're the best and fastest runner I have ever known. Breezy, thanks for eating Chef Boyardee and getting it all over your face and still looking as cute as ever. So here's three cheers to the Thornocks for being awesome! To the best neighbors EVER!

How fun is that?? So glad you guys could have such awesome friends and neighbors! It makes life much more fun and exciting!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I hadn't checked blog updates in a while... so this was surprising. :-D Steve and I were cracking up at so many different parts. I'm glad you recognized that he has the potential to be beaten in Settlers, but that I will not be dethroned in phase ten! I'm bummed we didn't take any pictures of the April Fool's Day joke!
ReplyDeleteThe Thornocks are pretty sweet people and Christie is the best VT companion!
