Eleven Months

The Cabe man (as my dad so lovingly calls him) is now in his last month of being my little baby. Here's what's going on with him:

He has five teeth. Two on top, three on bottom. Although I see two more waking their way down up top.

12 hours a night of sleep and one good 2 and 1/2 hour nap.

Crawls, climbs, walks along things, but doesn't walk on his own yet. Sometimes I think he might be close, other times it seems like he'd rather crawl for the rest of his life. Just depends on his mood.

I still nurse him 2 or 3 times a day. He takes a sippy really well. Mainly I give him water but I've started giving him a little bit of cow's milk to see how he does and he seems to really like it.

He loves pulling off our glasses. And it's so cute when he tries to put them back on us. Or better yet, when he tries to put them on him.

I gave him peanut butter for the first time and he loves it. There's not much he won't eat. Him and Ellie's favorite still is avocado. He also likes yogurt, any type of fruit, and pretty much every vegetable (though I tend to do the pureed version of that still). He's good at eating chicken and rice. He'll eat eggs with Ellie and I, but I can tell he's not crazy about them. But overall he'll eat everything we eat, which is really convenient. I did try to give him some raw spinach the other day and decided he still can't eat that yet though because he can't chew it well enough.

He's good at pulling Ellie's hair and messing up her games. But for the most part they get along really well.

Everytime dad walks in the door after work, Caleb crawls over to him as fast as he can with a huge smile on his face waiting for Trisyan to pick him up. It's the sweetest thing ever.

He does not like to sit still, which means restaurants and movies are out of the question, but it's also good because he's so good at keeping himself entertained!

He can occasionally be a trouble maker, for example: he unrolled all the toilet paper completely off the roll (he's done that plenty of times though). Another example: he pulled himself up next to our trash can, pulled open the lid and pulled out the leftover bones from the ribs from dinner and was gnawing on them when I was doing the dishes. I turned around and cracked up laughing. I wrenched them out of his hands and put them in the trash; he didn't like that. He's like my little puppy haha. Or I can call him the vacuum cleaner because he likes to go around and pick up the Cheerios that he threw on the floor during breakfast. I think he throws them on the floor on purpose just so he can do that.
He says "dadada" and "mamama" and "gagaga". He laughs easily, and doesn't really cry but chooses to yell really loud to get our attention.

He holds the phone up to his ears now and then hands it to me so that I can do the same. Then wants it back, then gives it back to me, and so on. It's super adorable.

By the way, getting his 11-month picture was a nightmare. I tired several methods of distraction but not no avail. It took forever and more than half of them were super blurry. But, just thought I'd add them in here because it's a great reflection of his no-nonsense personality.

We love our little man.

  2. Gosh I love that boy so much! He's so beautiful (I was just explaining to my class that boys can be beautiful too... it's not just a word for girls and I stand by that!) Just dying of laughter when I read about the ribs... Oh Cabe Babe, you crack me up.
