Third semester of the nursing program is always everyone's favorite. Because third semester is Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby Unit, and Pediatrics (and if you're lucky NICU and PICU). Makes sense, right? Especially since there's 9 guys out of our 40 students. Girls > Guys.
In our most recent class we briefly talked about multiple births; dizygotic (faternal) and monozygotic (Identical) twins. (I'm about to get really scientific on you, but bear with me because it's super interesting). Dizygotic twins are two separate eggs (or ova) that are fertilized by two separate sperm. Monozygotic twins are one egg and one sperm. Then at the 3rd or 4th day of fertilization, the ovum splits. The cool thing about the ovum splitting is that no one knows how or why it splits. It just does. Faternal twins are genetic (some woman are more likely to ovulate twice in one month), while Identical twins are random (approximately 1 in 300 pregnancies). My teacher kidding-ly stated, "Identical twins are freaks of nature."

Brittany was not random.

The notes from my class had an interesting bullet point that said, "Monozygotic twins always results in same sex, same genetic constitution, identical blood groups, closely resemble each other in physical, psychologic and mental characteristics." I couldn't agree more with that. We are more alike more than people realize.
All throughout our lives we've done everything together. My mom had to split us up when we were in 3rd grade so we wouldn't depend on each other so much. And in high school we did EVERYTHING together. Seriously. Plus, we had all of our classes together. And I always sat behind her because of alphabetical order. She still gets mad at me for bouncing my foot on her chair all throughout class. But there isn't a thing we didn't do together.

Water Polo (Brittany's always number 12)

Volleyball

(This was the only picture that I found of us both on the court because we played the same position!)

Swim team (Britt's stroke was butterfly, mine was breaststroke)

School activities

Our first job was Lifeguards/swim instructors for the City of Ontario

We were voted "Best Friends" from the Chino High senior class.

On both of our wedding days, guess who was the first one to get a hug from the bride?

Brittany is the best sister and friend that any one could ask for. One day I was having a bad day and Tristan called Brittany (because he was at work) and asked her to come over. Well her husband was at work, so she had no car. She walked a mile and a half in the snow to come be with me. That's my sister.

My mom always says that there was a reason that we came down together as twins.
I wouldn't be the person I am today without her. Love you Brittany!! Thanks for being my monozygotic twinner.
